Letters to No One

On darkened hill a soldier stands,

Letter in his hands.

Never to see,

Only to be.

To home the letter will ne'er reach,

Contents ne'er preached.

No home be found,

something profound.

Emotions written never shown,

Bare skin like stone.

Ever to the stars,

Life behind bars.
