Letting Go
I watch the darkness fall over us,
Adding weight to already heavy eyes,
As the world take its final bow.
Where are you now?
And if I should go without a fight?
Then let thy bone be cast in ash,
Like fine men covered over with fresh dirt.
Let go without feelings,
Let the ecstasy wash over,
There may be no saving us now.
Black and red skies tell stories of the future.
As i read between the lines,
I raise my hands to the heavens,
And close my heavy eyes.
Breathe in all that is the brightest of lights,
Exhale with the laughter of the past,
For this is my waking moment.
Forever blinded by bright lights,
Seeing past the darkest hour,
To cherish all I have ever had.
There may be no saving us now.
