Letting go

Tears now stain my once clean face
my worlds now dark in every space
I'm living my life in endless depression
this is one of my final confessions

Im filling with pain and cant take much more
I'm aching and aching right down to the core
anymore could be my ending
I'm through with all of this pretending

In desperation i take a blade
for this attempt I've over delayed
i take its edge and slice it through my skin
my wrist will no longer be as it has been

I watch the blood flow from my wrist
as tears run past where my cheeks were once kissed
i feel no pain but only my emotions relieved
this is now my lifestyle no longer the choice i once believed

I set down the blade and let out a sigh
as i pull down my sleeves and wipe away the tears I've cried
i walk out with a smile just so no one will know
but deep down inside i'll always know that I’m slowly letting go
