Letting Go
I hear the night.
I calls your name.
I turn around in vain.
Hoping to see your shadow creep across my wall.
Nothing is what I see.
"Let Go" is what the night whispers to me.
I see the sun.
It's rays shine down on me.
Washing over my body in its sweet caress.
Like you used to in the happy days.
I reach out to touch its glorious rays.
Nothing is what I grasp.
"Let Go" is what's in the sunshine's daze.
I smell the rain coming in the air.
It's aroma hits me, this time I don't care.
It envelops in my head, and lingers on my skin.
Like your smell used to, when we were together again.
Nothing is in the smell that fills the air.
"Let Go" is what lingers on my nose, life isn't fair.
I taste the raindrops in my mouth.
Beating down like drums in a concert.
Syncopated but in tune.
Like my heart goes whenever you were around.
Nothing of you can be found.
"Let Go" is what the rain taste like.
I touch the soft petals of flowers.
They can only grow after the rain.
Bright but soft, is their texture, my fingers begin to crave.
Not for your touch, which I don't miss that much.
But for something new on the horizon, a new light down my path.
The seasons tell me to "Let Go", but what they don't know is I already have.
