letting go but never forgetting
in the garden of the heart, a rose once bloomed, But winter came, and its petals fell to the ground, Each petal a memory, heavy with loss, yet the stem still stands, bare but not defeated. Letting go is not forgetting- its making room, for sunlight to touch soil once shadowed and cold. A slow unfurling, not tearing away. Grief loosens its grip petal by petal, Until one morning you find yourself breathing again. The rose will bloom again, in its own time, perhaps not the same, perhaps different, perhaps more beautiful for having known winter. and for grief is not the end of love, but a part of it. And letting go is not abandoning what was, but making space for what will be.
