"Letting You Go"

The frigid wind has knocked you

On shaking toes you stand

To freedom you must fly

Wherever will you land?

I glue your fleeting pieces

Thinking I am clever

I’d tie you down if it could

Keep you here forever

You must spread your wings

The right to truly live

Selfless love around you

The kind I cannot give
