Letting you go

I went back to a place that reminded me of you.

And not in a good way.

I went back to a place that reminded me where I

Was first broken

I walked on the seashells, like the 2 summers before

I let the ocean cover my toes, I watched the

Tide roll in, and back out.

Saw the waves crash on top of each other.

I started to cry a bit, remembering how you

Stole my innocence.

I got asked if I was okay, and really I was. A little.

I walked back to the beach and back to the

ocean, just back and forth.

then I stopped walking. i stood in the tide, I

Remembered every detail of that night.

And then I let it go out with the tide.

I wanted to lay in the shoreline, just enough out

That the water would wash up and cover my back

I stood in the tide and let every ounce of hate I

Have for you wash back out. i let it go. I let you go.

I danced on the beach, in my own world. I did

Cartwheels and kicked the water. I chased

Land birds, and picked out my favorite sea shells.

I went back to a place the reminded me of

You, a place I was terrified of. But in the end I

Left with such a weight lifted off of me.

The ocean and beach are just that. Things that

Make me happy again.

I went back to a place that reminded me of what

Life was like before you. And thats how I’m

Going to live my life from now on.
