My patience is being tested
Feels like all of a sudden, unexpectedly, I'm being neglected
Nobody is in my corner now
Everybody brings me up, just to bring me down
I can't emphasize enough
How I learned about the dishonest concept of trust
You can't rely on everyone to be there
Just because they listen, doesn't mean they care
Everybody helping isn't a friend and everybody against you isn't an enemy
Just because they're there doesn't mean anything
Pay attention, not to those always around but those that are there
Life isn't easy, life isn't great, life isn't fair
You ever get to a point where you believe it's really you against the world?
Everything around you is big and you're just a lonely little girl
A lonely little girl that at a point, had everybody on her side
But decided to finally do for herself instead of others, so now nobody is down to ride
Because what you do for you, they get nothing out of
As long as it benefits you, it's no longer fun
It's no longer a friendship but a competition
To see who can be better than who, who can complete their mission
But somebody's drive is stronger, brain motivated, car in full gear
And the mindset that nothing can stop them, just the idea of fear
It's an absolute shame that the good ones go
But after doing for others and suffering for it, you have nothing to show
Except for the tears that fall from your eyes because you've been hurt
And since you decided to be selfish, you have to deal with your name being dragged through the dirt
It's okay though, cause they'll throw salt on your name now
Then be the same people sitting back wondering how
How you made it through the alienation, the humiliation, the long nights
To smiling still, a tremendous amount of strength, a beautiful life
They couldn't bring you down, no matter how hard they tried to
Don't let anyone convince you not to be you
You serve a purpose in this world, life gets hard but don't quit
Too many people love you, haters don't matter, somebody has to do it.
