ODE TO MY SEXUALITY

Tell my friends I am gay

Tell my pastor I am queer

Tell my parents I am a lesbian

Tell the people in the grocery store I am straight

Push me into the world

Rip me out of the closet

Beat the gay out of me

Call me a fag

Use me like a tool

Drag my heart out of my lively body

Turn me inside out

Mold me to who you want me to be

Try to change me

Still I will stand PROUD
