Liars will Drown

Guilt,

A feeling I’m familiar with.

An infatuation that beats,

In the hearts of liars.

Whether it’s a known fact,

Or whether they live their lives in ignorance.

It’s there...Pulsing.

That’s the one piece of truth they continually,

Grasp in their greedy fingers.

Intertwined, tangled into the hearts of,

The only people out there left to love.

Can I tell a lie?

If it’s laced with good intentions?

Can I tell a lie?

If it’s meant to save tension?

Can I tell a lie?

Even if it doesn’t?

I can.

Everyone can.

Lies are easy.

To understand,

To hear,

To tell,

To whisper,

Into a life that doesn't belong to you.

Guilt is thing that will drown you in the end.
