The Lie

My heart sank

As I watched your retreating back

But, I know for myself

You’ll be happier away from me.

So then I’d let go

So then I’ll forget

Those happy memories with you,

Is something I will never regret.

I promise I’ll make it through,

I’ll live a life without you.

I’ll be happy so don’t mind,

I’ll be happy living in a lie.
