A Lie

tell a lie, live a lie

secrets linger in one's eye

speak a lie, teach a lie

let life's truths pass you by 

cover a lie, watch a lie

always remember, people pry

bury a truth, leave lies behind

future generations will emerge blind,

what a handicap it is

what sadness must live in a soul

if truths cannot be spoken

lies hinder humans from feeling whole

truths can harm, but scars will heal

lies are a danger,

for what they show us is unreal
