Lies

Why is it so easy to lie?

To twist an intricate web of half-truths?

To demean & dehumanize oneself?

When the truth is often so much simpler

Yet why do you believe my silver-tongued lies?

Why do you accept the worst about me?

Why do you see that in me?

Is it because that's all I am to you?

Am I just a mistake?

a failure?

a royal screw up?

Why is it so much easier for you to believe my lies,

Then to see the truths hidden beneath?
