'Lies'
Lies a beautiful deception,
Lusting to conceal identity; eager to boost the ego,
Relieving momentary pain yet all said to deceive,
What the eye can't see,
Ears don't hear,
Hands won't touch- the mind will not interpret,
Lies said to be cold and dark,
Told by the ones dearest in the heart that tear us apart,
As one was to say "it is only to protect us"
Protect us from what- the light,
Which in its presence has blinded the crowd,
Staring into smoking mirrors,
Tell them what caught the eye,
Promising?
As the smoke fades, the room occupied with free-spirits,
On the count of the three blow out the candles,
Tell me again what caught the eye- Reality,
As the smoke vanishes
