Life

life tells me its time to grow up

it repeats over and over again

"stop acting like a child"

"you cant stay immature forever"

"you need to accept it and prepare for the real world"

I say I will and put on a brave smile

however inside I sigh

and think

am I ready for this ?

will I be ready for this

in time ?

I look to my left

then my right

searching for help on this

journey of mine

but everyone else my age

is just as confused as I am

everyone older than me

thinks I have it all together

everything thought out

my future planned out

but I don't

so I worry

sometimes I ignore everything

but I know I should not

so I try to face life

I look at it straight in the face

directly into its eyes

to see if i can see my future

that doesn't work

all i see is a cloud of uncertainty

and realize i cant take the easy way out

so i suck it up

raise my shoulders

I stop whimpering ,worrying,whining

and I have hope for myself

that I will be ready

in time

to face the terrifying uncertain journey

a prosperous and successful future

is what i envision for myself

does it have every section

perfectly planned out ?

absolutely not

are there still some uncertain spots

of course

but at least I have an outline

at least I have hope

at least I am not afraid anymore

so this time

when life repeats its verses once again

"stop acting like a child"

"you cant stay immature forever"

"you need to accept it and get into the real world"

this time i put on a real smile and say

"yeah i know"

"I am already preparing for it"
