Life Is...
Life is…
By: Leyla Abotteen
You can not tell me that life is not hard.
I have only lived on this Earth for 16 years,
But that is enough to see that life is hard.
When there are people out there alone,
simply struggling to get out of bed.
How somewhere, someone is saying their final goodbyes.
Or how girls and boys alike, cry themselves to sleep over the first of many heartbreaks.
And, online are so many hidden behind their filtered masks too scared and shy to stand out.
So, you can not tell me that life is not hard.
However,
Somewhere out there is an elementary school classroom filled with toothless grins and judgment free minds.
There are people out there that view beauty in your most hated flaw.
And a dog who will bark with the utmost joy at the sight of seeing you even when you feel your lowest.
There’s also a pair of strangers out there unknowingly saying the first of what will become many hellos.
And everyday a new life is brought into this difficult and complex world.
So, you can not tell me that life is not beautiful.
I have only lived on this Earth for 16 years,
But that is enough to see that life is beautiful
