Life


Dear mom,

Life is not simple. 

I grew up thinking it was, 

but the hard times hit. 

Everything changed. 

Lines faded, colors turned gray,

what I once knew, gone. 

People disappeared. 

I missed the times I once knew. 

I wait to smile more.
