Life

You play out a rhythm day by day;

Each one is different,

Unique in their own way.

It may simply be how hard a note’s plucked-

Emphasizing or passing it in a single slight stroke.

We may add a second hand’s talents with their own…

“Complications”.

But it’s beautiful nonetheless.

It may be so loud and obnoxious-

That our ears ring with stress.

It could be so soft-

That we can feel ourselves melting into a mess.

Life as we know it is a song played;

Dancing and weaving through our hardships,

Bouncing up and down in struggles.

A pitter-patter, and weakness in our foundation.

A crash and we rise in anticipation.

Sometimes it’s long but seems too short,

Leaving us wishing it to come again.

Sometimes it’s so fast and jolting,

Letting us feel confused and echoed.

Competing notes hit each other but create a masterpiece.

Similar notes add their strength to our own.

Single, loan notes are the storyline,

Tieing it all together…

Each time, we know a mistake is imminent,

But each and every morning we play with that same thrill.

Even if we don’t know why.

Not yet…
