This is Life

This is life,

Changes beyond my control

When everything I have ever thought

Slowly shifts into a clearer picture

Like putting on a new pair of glasses which

I avoided for so long in efforts to fit in

With all of the pressure that surrounded me which

Shaped my opinions, beliefs, and values

Personally, seeing the world and its cultures during my move to Thailand at age seven

Matured me in ways I never quite understood. 

Participation in active self-reflection at such a young age

So as I watch others, I learn that

This world is bigger than myself

Even though I am taught to dream big, I stay humble

For we are all the same
