Life

Life unfolds so suddenly

It’s overwhelming and tiresome

Sometimes its weight is nearly unbearable

Then something happens

We go for a drive in the rain

I listen to my record player as it spins

I watch my mother knit a scarf

Life comes back to me

I feel so restless at the thought

I feel more alive with these simple moments
