Life

In my time of darkness,

Where all I needed was a friend,

Poetry came to me,

With a very gentle hand,

Poetry was a shoulder to cry upon,

even an ear to listen.

It was a blanket of security,

when I couldnt find my own.

You could say poetry healed me

and even saved my life.

A simple thank you wouldnt suffice,

so Ill just owe it my life.
