A Life
A child comes home
to find pain again
A brother crying
one eye bruised
cut on the arm
I ask
where's mom
I get nothing
Again I ask
nothing again
take a walk through
there she is on the floor of the bath room
drowning in a pool of blood
blood stained clothes
blood stained floor
A scream
Her name called
A call for help
no one comes
to late
she's gone
looking for a baby girl
not there
A yell
where is she
A phone call
help being begged for
they say
we're coming
please calm down
A mother dead
A brother hurt
A sister missing
Baby found
mother buried
a pain-filled brother
now left to care for everyone
to take care of food
the bills
caring for it all
then I wake up
just a dream
and I shudder
