Life
I close my eyes to get away
Inside I see another way
My mind won’t let the pain inside
It locks the door, throws the key aside
Through my walk in life, this keeps me strong
To keep these walls up straight and long
They protect me from the shadows near
There is nothing I have to fear
The problem comes when light seeps through
To remind me to come back to you
Hiding does make perfect sense
If living means false pretense
No I cannot leave without a fight
I must stand tall with all my might
Something stronger calls my name
And opens my eyes to win this game
Life is what you make of it
And nothing happens if you just sit
Something wrong with this poem?
