For Life

It seems the day that I was born

God had plans for me that were far from the norm

White as snow -- Fairest of them all

I was born with a birth mark that was invisible

Marked for life -- A beacon of pain

I was destined to face challenges

I have been broken in nearly every way

The pieces of my heart are duct taped together

Beneath the layers of make-up are scars from battle

Without medicine I can not function

A child should not have to know such destruction

I'm only 17 yet my youthfulness is dull

They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger

What scares me is what the future holds
