Life

My future with you
is definite.
Yet indefinite
because life is
never so defined.
To be defined, it
would require a
definition.
But life is broad
and can be described
in so many ways
like:
happy, sad, tragic,
romantic.
Terrible! Terrific!
And not simply adjectives.
Nouns!
You, me, us.
School, work.
Time.
The ticking and tocking
of the ever-present
clock.
Sounds, feelings,
bangs, booms
and music!
Screaming out loud and
proud.
Sighs, snores, moans,
whispers, groans.
Soft kisses, tight hugs.
Sharp slaps and salty tears.
The thumping of seven billions hearts,
so close to unison but not quite.
Rain pattering on windows,
sun blaring down on smiles.
Waves tickling toes
and
dirt getting up your nose.
Leaves fluttering in
a warm breeze.
Buds blooming,
snow falling in magnificent
silence.
The sun warming the faces
of billions.

Life: past, present, future.
And everything in between.
