Life

I believe that life is a gift, that MY life is a gift. My parents have been telling me all my life that my siblings and I are the greatest gifts that they could have received. As I grew up my family always would tell me  stories about all the crazy things I did while growing up and how they wondered how I didn’t get in any major situations. One accident I had did hit me quite hard it was the first time I had actually gone to the hospital. I remember that day so vividly, I had fallen off a statue I had climbed. I remember trying to jump off but when I landed on the floor something didn’t feel right everything around me was spinning and everything went instantly black. I had blacked out, when I woke up I felt the rock indents on my forehead from when I hit the ground. I felt restrained because at that point the paramedics had strapped me down, I was so confused everything felt as if I was in a dream. Then it happened I saw my mom crying terrified, unsure what happened to her little girl, she approached the ambulance as they were getting ready to putting me in it she grab my hand and reasserted me that I would be fine like any great parent would, a tear ran down her face and dropped ever so gently on my warm skin. The next time I woke up was once I was in the hospital were then I found out why my whole family was scared. The doctors were worried that I had affected my spine, after several test everything came back great and the tense environment soon became a cozy home full of family members. After the week of recovery I began to think and wonder what my life would have been like if I would have injured my spine, all the experiences I had after the accident would have been difficult to accomplish. Life is given to as a gift, a gift you must embrace and enjoy to the fullest. This life we live is the only one we can experience, the only one we have and it’s just one little mistake it can that is why I believe life is a gift. A gift given to you the day you are born and taken away the instant yon die.
