Life and death ... satire

Philippians 2:3

Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit,

but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.

Life and death

Spring is here and all is blooming.

Everywhere life is refreshed.

Contagious is it … removes the glooming

attitudes from all the rest.

As for one … I'm a blooming.

A blooming idiot you bet.

No more hair … no more grooming

what you see … is what you get.

To know one-self is a treasure

but still I fool myself a lot.

Think higher of self … like a pleasure

until reality hits my weakest spot.

An upside-down cake is my measure.

Get mixed up quite a lot.

Always writing for knowledge and adventure,

the more I see in this life's plot.

Jobber, slobber, grease and slime.

All the trades of these are mine.

Want to be a quarter but destined to be a dime.

Wonder about a dollar to every one's chagrin.
