Life in a Better World
In a world so cold and dark,
Filled with hatred and violence,
Consumed with the young and the old,
The rich and the poor,
Violence spreads and concurs the vast majorities,
While one lay casted in the shadow of reality.
Blood flows in the Bronx,
Rivers dried up and swallowed by deep trenches of trash that plague the lands in Haiti,
Murderers prowl the night and feast on the fresh kill that stimulate their sick and twisted fantasies,
Chaos fills our lives and fear monopolizes our thoughts.
We’re driven by our desires but held back by our anxieties.
In a world so perfect and true,
No soul would be devoured by ones innermost phobias.
Fear would cease to exist,
Our streets would be filled with a re-born nation,
Crawling out from the depths of the core that they lay imprisoned to.
In a world so pure and merciful,
Men and women would come together and achieve the impossible.
Streets would be unblemished by our cowardice and air so candied that one trembles due to the unthinkable.
No child apprehensive of the uncertainty of man,
Because with the nihility of terror,
Creatures blossom like a rose exposing their different layers,
Not daunted by judgment.
In a blissful realm fear would whimper back to the shadows where it came.
With no fear humans would be empowered to change the world as we know it.
