Life Changes

Someone we all know too well

Is Life

When we want to cry, Life laughs

And when we laugh, Life insults us, kicks dirt in our face

It's something we can't really escape, for Life is our Fate

Fate follows us around all day

A care in the world She doesn't give

While we watch others disintegrate

We still try our best to live

But where we get is wrong all day

Is not what happens when we don't play

It's what we miss when we look away

And somewhere, you've found Fate

He carries an empty bottle in hopes that all his pain will go away

But somehow, in some way, it finds his way back to him the next day

And nobody cares, because everyone else has walked by him

Calling him names and spewing profanity at him

Like a bum on the streets, but he's so much more

An artist, really, in his own way.

What we see on the outside isn't him

But still he follows a simple life, no wife by him but every night

he cries

And what do we do but stand by?

She holds a razor in her hands, her hair across her face so bland

Depressed, they say, but where they're wrong is she's not depressed

She's strong

And once a day she fights to live, because she knows that if she moves an inch

It's gone. One inch causes her to lose it.

So you can say all day it's hard

But you'll never know how hard she tries

To make herself known, to shout to the world

That she was the one, that valiant girl

In the news

The one who hung herself, or shot herself

Because she represents everyone else that ever felt it

Pain

And still

Some of us hide

Not through a mask but through our words

We laugh and play, and never stray

But still it seems to take away that life is horror

And worth nothing more but a few dollars an hour to skate by on

Where is the beauty now?

That moment that you saw their face

The one that stopped you, time and place

Where did the days go?

Will things ever change?

I say no

Because I was taught that everything happens for a reason

And at the time we may not know

But things will always change for the better

Everything is good in the end

So if it's not good, it's not the end

And just tell yourself that

Once a day, right in the morning

Either friends by your side or by yourself choking

Because you are loved

And anyone who says otherwise finds themselves where you are

But maybe they can't express it.

Take a minute, maybe two to find a new change you can make to you

And one day you'll once again

Be transported back to the days of the past

But for now, life changes

It's something that happens

And even I know that things can get bad

But stand tall on this day, even if with a cover

Because one day

That cover could be the real you

And you won't have to hide anymore.

And still through it all, Fate plays her role

But that's okay, because a roll of the dice

Could change at any time

You won't always be rolling a one

Someday a twenty

But for now, clouds inside, with all of their hazing

Just remember this day, that sometimes, life changes

But it's okay.

Bang.
