Life Class

When you come into my acting class

You know I will surely kick your ass

If you haven’t done your work.

Don’t think I’m a jerk!

I’m just trying to help you become the best man,

or woman, as the case may be,

Able to handle responsibility.

Why not go for the A instead of settling for the B?

The assignments I give are meant to challenge you

To reflect on who you are and what you do

But some don’t like to answer the call

By being “sick” when they’re not sick at all.

They unprepared, they’re off their game

And always looking for someone to blame.

“It’s the teacher’s fault, his class is too tough”

when in reality they haven’t tried enough.

“Blame someone else”, that’s their song

when all the time it’s they who are wrong.

See, life is tough, not my class

And life will surely kick your ass.

It doesn’t take excuses or cries

And it's not really interested in your lies.

So stand up and be counted,

Lest you want to be doubted

For who you are and what you do,

Because then life surely will be through with you.
