Life is But a Claymation Simulation
Today is one of those days
where no one really portrays
who they are
who they should be
everything is merely sub-par
There is absolutely nothing new to see
but everyone is searching for the key
the key to happiness
the key to fame
the key to life
Holding what seems to be a knife
I scream, watching as my shelf-life
depletes
drowning in all of these receipts
nothing seems to meet
my expectations
seeing everyone's creations
life is but a claymation simulation
what seems new
is something I already knew
I've already held
every emotion not able to weld
my heart back together after breaking
I mean it's just one of those days
where I am stuck in this haze
repeating and repenting
my past life
the constant squeak of a tiny fife
protruding my mind
as a symphony of time
my sanity is dripping like slime
through my fingers
the only remnant that lingers
is a trigger that I thought I erased all that time ago
but here I go
back
into one of those days
I sleep
I wake
unable to shake
that feeling of a carousel
reaching into the well
of my being. holding me still
here we are again ignoring that shrill.
I have realized I am no longer able to hold the steering wheel
teach me how to feel
happy
I don't mean to sound sappy
but I am sick of watching
waiting
praying
for my life to turn around
time will heal they say
but I am here growing old at the bay
is everything just another day
is there really no key
is there no tree
that sprouts wisdom
showing me the kingdom
where I should be
I have always been told I am a princess but
tell me, where is my crown?
can I find it among your frown?
Turning my life upside down
just to wake up to another daze
just another one of those days
