Life Is a Crystal Ball

Life is a crystal ball.

Round and clear almost invisible.

You can’t see a center,

only touch the edge,

which is almost perfectly hidden from site.

So smooth,

So smooth.

It rolls off a table, or slips through your fingers,

And hits the ground with a thud.

Now that perfectly unnoticed quiet ball,

Is screaming with pain.

A crack.

A single white crack.

It will never be invisible.

It will never be quiet.

It will never be liked.

Life is a crystal ball.
