Life Cycles

Life is quite an amazing phenomenon Mother nature selling out frail creatures To natural selection all the while Father time can be seen winding up his clocks just waiting to see whom comes out on top The apples fall close to the tree As the peaches roll down the hill And the cherries and strawberries grow fresh;just right for easy-pickin Life is an shocking phenomenon The sun tires out and realizes his shift is up so he punches out And the stars and the moon Both rush to get to work on time They're very old friends They enjoy this kind of competition Kind of makes them happy The apples fall close to the tree As the peaches roll down the hill And the cherries and strawberries grow fresh;just right for easy-pickin Life is an awesome phenomenon Finding love in overwhelming times Where the heart reaches out for help Even when the mind says "No, Don't" In the time when you lie with the one you love As you take turns lying on each other's chest throughout the night to fully understand what it means to have a heart to heart moment The soul gets it, that nothing else matters A moment everlasting in dreams, hopes, and prayers but torn apart by reality Don't we deserve to be happy? The apples fall close to the tree As the peaches roll down the hill And the cherries and strawberries grow fresh;just right for easy-pickin Life is an illogical phenomenon where the most enervating decision Is to choose the brain over the heart or vice versa And then always wondering how it would have been the other way around The logical brain vs the illogical heart A never ending confrontation In place awaiting their own happiness The apples fall close to the tree As the peaches roll down the hill And the cherries and strawberries grow fresh;just right for easy-pickin
