Life With a Disability

People with disabilities,

Have a difficult life to live.

But life may seem easier,

If we have something to give.

They are the same as us,

But yet different in a special way.

Whether mental or physical,

They adapt to it every day.

Blindness snatched away their sight,

And filled them with nothing besides darkness.

But they can see the world through our eyes,

If we give them happiness.

Deafness stole their ability to hear,

And left them with no commotions.

By learning the language and gestures,

We can still understand their emotions.

The way they learn can be different than how we do,

And they may even be slow at learning something.

But they still have the knowledge that we do,

And the courage to do anything.

We have the option to choose what we want,

However, those with a disability do not.

Respect those unique people,

For the talent they have got.

What we say and do and how we act,

Will make a huge difference to them and their lives,

Trying to empathize with disabled people,

Can make their heart come alive.
