Life is hard

They say

to me

to you

to us

that life is hard

But what is really hard

is losing control

not knowing what to do

who to go to

but life is just hard.

Life is hard

so people die

and never come back.

How many

they ask

does it take to stop it

how long

will it last?

It will last as long

as they keep saying

that life is hard.

Life is not hard

life is a struggle

everyday

to keep your head above water.

Life is not hard

because it requires dedication

that some don't have.

Life is not hard

not to them anyway.

But life is hard

for people like me

people like my friends

people like patients.

Life is hard

for people who aren't strong

people who give up

people who die easily.

But life is just hard.
