Life on the hardwood

My mind wonders like an lost puppy, but my voice is heard

I speak life into the young of our dying America even though death is still an option

A part of me is caged and waiting for my sentence to be served

While my other half is living the life of a champion

I grew up thinking im going to the best

But then life threw out one of it's famous test

Im doing what I love even though love has wondered in and out of this relationship

My half that is caged is the side that wonders why I choose to live on this hardwood

Im living a double life and with emotions roaring, tables turning and questions flowing

I feel free when im on the hardwood but i feel at peace when my heart begins to write its own story.
