A Life I Didn't Ask For

Eighteen years old! Finally realizing that my life is not my own.

I wait until mama leaves the house, so that I can finally be me.

I close my bedroom door and drop down to my knees.

Before I begin to talk to the man that is upstairs, I sit

silently on my floor and watch as the mirror revealed the tears that

are on my face. There is nothing more painful than looking at yourself in a

mirror and not knowing what the hell is wrong! That mirror played flashbacks of

my life, when mama and daddy was happily married and I was content with my life.

That was before daddy cheated with an older woman and ruined his marriage,

his family, and my childhood. Mama was mad as hell! So she left daddy, and

everything that they built together. She took her 2 girls with her and we

had nothing. Which explains why I have a bible and a laptop, tears and a whole bunch

of unsaid words that were meant for daddy, applying for scholarships, pretending to

be a fucking poet to pay for college, because mama just ain't got it!
