Life as it Were

I hear them everyday

But when I look around me

I realize that I’m only

Imagining

Constantly throughout the day

Do I hear

Kids talking to me and

Calling my name.

But it is only my head

That tells me this

So I am

Alone

I am alone surrounded

By people

Different people, not like me,

But still surround me.

I watch, waiting, wondering

Is anyone there?

Is anyone there,

for me?

Does anyone know?

I do not know

I do not know

I do not know

I am alone

But yet I do

And do not feel alone

Because

I feel wonderful

And yet terrible inside

I love people, but not all

Seem to love me

I feel fine.

No, that is not true,

I don’t know what

I feel

I feel covered, restricted

I don’t feel myself.

I want to release.

But I do not know how.

My life is one big question

One that I can’t seem to answer

I know, though, that I will one day

But until then I will live life as it were
