Life Lessons

As a kid

standing no more than three feet tall

rushing into mischief at full speed

blinders prevent me from "distractions"

I fall

covered in tears and bruises

my rescue team comes to save the day and all is well once again

As a teen

 a host to body changes

the craters upon my face become a mask to my indentity

woman hood begins to curve my future along side with my body and mind

I have no choice but to have my insecurities on my sleeve

mad at the world, yet all I was given was guidance

locked in my own fears I close the door in my familys face

As a young adult

Ive studied more hours than Ive slept

goal driven anything else is considered a waste of time

yet im still lost when it comes to relationship building skills

so again I fall

only this time is different no one comes to my rescue, so rather than getting up

I lie there in thought, feeling betrayed, discarded, unloved

I place my trust in that of a stranger.. my biggest downfall

they pick me up, dust me off, and offer me a home I accept. Nothing comes for free however

im in debt to the stranger for deeds Ive never done. Realizing a change is needed I abondone the strangers that offered me assistance

just to start over and have nothing, and I am perfectly fine with that.

So now looking fowards to when I am a full grown adult I know I will be able to catch myself before I even fall.
