Life in a Letter
Dear G-D,
I live under gray skies
When I look up
I see only mystery
When I look up
I see only emptiness
I search for You
In that great expanse.
I stumble in the rain
Reach through the pain
And find a glimmer
Perhaps a shimmer
Of life.
The rain is for growth
Awakened by thunder
But I long for the blue
Of the sky that You
Once showed me
That blue that meant
I knew that You loved me.
But looking up I see
Only the gray
Of the day
That I stumble in.
Falling in the rain
Screaming with the pain
Of not becoming
Who I’m meant to be.
So G-D, I request
A little glimpse of blue
In my white-gray skies
A little glimpse of blue
To show me that You
Still care.
