A life for a life.

I am the result of wrong notes, sticky fingers,

a conductor's wand that stopped the music

and let me through.

I am the result of an outstretched hand,

pulling me out of the darkness and

shedding light to burn away the fog.

I am the result of a teacher

who recognized the lost in me,

who joined me, met me where I was.

The thing is,

my life has already been changed

by one job.

The next time I find myself

in a room with wrong notes, sticky fingers

and a conductor's wand

in my own hand,

yes, I suppose this one job will change my life,

but I'm really looking for it to change theirs.
