Life in the long lane

Since I first arrived in this world it's been life in the long lane

Long days, long nights, long hours

Just one long corridor dragging on

It never ends

How do I escape this tunnel if I can't find the end

But what's that?

A light... where did that come from?

And there it is an escape

I run for it I dive for it

But it closes before I get there

And there I sit in the long lane

Alone
