Life Is Not Fair

Life ain’t always fair, I know this far to well.

I was taken from my family when I was really young,

And it took me 33 years to find them again.

But when I did, I learned that my mother had been killed

When I would have been about 12.

I was able to meet my father last summer,

But due to the fact that his wife is a skitzo

and was afraid that me and my brother would take him

Away from her and her daughters,

He was not allowed to have contact with us on a regular basis,

He sent us a couple of cassettes and came to see us once any ways,

Then he would sneak a phone call or two from work.

But I never really got the chance to know him as a person,

Nor him to know me and my brother.

But on the morning of 5-25-02 he died from a heart attack,

Taking away all chances I will ever have of ever really knowing him.

I guess that is just the way that life goes at times, and I have come to know it far to well.

If it weren’t for my kids at times, I would have gone off the deep end.

But I could never do anything to hurt them.

They mean for to much to me, and I would go in sane without them,

Which is why I can not understand how my father could give into his wife as much as he did.

But I guess that is just another way that life is completely unfair.
