I breathe, I wake, I sleep, I eat.
Everything, everything on repeat
Same old life, same old job.
My dreams in a coffin,
Where did it all go wrong?
Whispers, whispers in the wind
Whooshing all around.
They swirl from mouth to ear
Never making a sound.
The smile hides their sharp teeth,
The hatred in their souls.
Why must we speak at all when only lies are told?
I’m sick and tired, the words locked behind a key
I’ve let my aspirations go,
I’ve thrown them in the breeze.
I no longer flourish, the days begin to bleed.
Endless and identical, every second, every deed.
Still stuck in that paper page,
The pencil long forgotten.
Nothing to draft nor write
No spark ignited.
Grim thoughts consume me,
Is this all there is?
Their looming gaze and my joyless grin?
My light dims after each sunset,
Tomorrow seems to promise only regret.
My hard drive is corrupted,
The system defense has crashed.
Repair is impossible, no chance.
I wish for a day where things weren’t so bleak.
A day full of smiles, not full of grief.
