Life, Overall, is Stunning
It’s six in the morning, you roll of bed.
Same routine everyday, breakfast, school, practice, homework.
You wonder how long you can endure what feels like never-ending dread.
You stay up till two, knowing that if you don't get sleep soon, you’ll go berserk.
But imagine a life where you don't get to be on the basketball team.
Imagine a life where you cannot attend school, where you don’t meet your friends.
Imagine a life without ice cream, or a color scheme.
A life where all you have is loose odds and ends.
We have friendship, love and unity.
Hardly anything is ever black and white.
Our world is filled with color, possibility, and opportunity.
We have music that transforms the darkness into light.
We have about a thousand things to be happy about.
Oceans, swimming, bike riding, pizza and sushi bars.
Even brothers and sisters too, who love you without a doubt.
And who can forget the books, movies and fast cars.
In our world we have good days and bad days.
But what matters most is what you do with your time.
Yes, sometimes we get frustrated and mad, and our days go into ablaze.
But remember, with a positive attitude, you can always remain in your prime.
Without a doubt we all forget.
We forget how grateful we are, all our blessings like walking and running.
We obsess over flaws, wishing you can be blonde instead of brunette.
Instead, we should embrace the differences, and all the things in life that are truly stunning.
