Life is a piece of cake

Life is a piece of cake or so I thought.

That is what I always hoped but never found,

A little boy rolling around like a ball on the ground

Pushing for more when I just never knew

Life was never going to be as easy as I had thought

Trying to hold on like a Koala clinging to a tree

Life is a train with no stop signs until it is over

Fear of failure overflows my soul like a river,

The taste of a new day never felt as bitter as it does today

The sound of birds and cars rushing by without direction,

Making me feel like I live in a constant loop of water

Wake up, work, sleep, repeat, there is no time to waste,

It is like it never ends, but I’m sure it will someday

One day things will be a piece of cake.
