Life in a Pool of Insecurites

Growing up is hard to do

The people you meet, the love you give, the life you live, is hard to go through

You want to do your best and be as great as anyone can be

But you start to think "Somebody will always be better than me"

Somebody is gonna have better goals and dreams than I

Somebody is gonna see all my flaws through their naked eye

Why am I scared?

Why am I nervous?

Why do I care so much about what others think of my purpose?

I don't know, I'm hoping time will tell

I'm hoping that whatever they think, it'll be well

Yes, I'm beautiful

Yes, I'm intelligent

Yes, I have a blooming personality

But, that doesn't stop my growing insecurties

I'm forever concerned about who thinks I'm great

Hoping that they'll see I'm more than a solid eight

I'm forever concerned about who thinks I'm terrible

Maybe they'll see that I'm irresistible

I know I can't dwindle on everyone's opinions

But the truth is, the world is full of judgemental minions

So I make myself a promise

That however I feel and whatever I go through, I'll remain honest

Honest to myself

Honest to my life

Honest to me

This is my Life in a Pool of Insecurities
