Life is a River

Life is a river.

It's movement

one breath inflates our lungs,

we're

constantly

spilling

over the banks

and then,

washing into the stream again.

Then the rapids,

the water doesn't stop,

it crashes against the rock and churns together,

but it all calms down and we are floating

in a stagnant lake.

A dragonfly buzzes by landing lightly on the surface,

before taking off again.

A rock thrown by a child creates

thousands of ripples,

little fish send bubbles to the surface.

The water is still moving.
