Life Rocks
To be stranded an island, is to be taken from society
Washed up, alone, and in despair, I feeling I know aplenty
But how have I survived thus far? On this island known as life to me?
Its not through computers or technology, that I have kept my sanity
While I have tinkered on the brink, unaware if I should jump,
I know one thing has kept me steady, the mellow sounds of rock
From the deep rich tones, to the heavy bass notes, the sounds all glorified
As they hit my drums, and make me numb, I’ve now been pacified.
One could call it an addiction, one I’m happy to fulfill
It keeps me sane, stuck in my brain, like a little happy pill.
If it weren’t for rock I know I’d be, sad and miserable.
So go ahead, strip me down and take everything away
But please, oh god please, let the music stay
You can take away my livelihood, and everything I own
But take away the music and I’ll just become a drone.
