Life Scent
"Life is like a box of chocolate; you never know what you are gonna get."- Forrest Gump
Life has many symbols and it symbols are limitless. Life is represented by simple things like grains of sand to complex organisms in the deep blue sea. Look around the world and see what you can see yourself in. You might not have to look far.
I am hanging on to something that constantly shows my past and everywhere I've been. I am attached to it; I am bound by a single, simple root than is relatively easy to break free from. Although I was created by man's hands, I am owned by many. I am created the same way as my brothers and sisters yet we are all unique. I was created to influence others. My purpose is to make my owners happy by leaving a happy trail. My early times in life are spent trapped inside, secluded, away from outside contact, but when I get to the right moment, my wrapper is torn away exposing everything I have to offer. Although my roots keep me from falling, I am easily swayed and never know which way is right. Rocky roads will shake me; the wind will blow me around but at the end of the day I l always know where I belong. I am a helper. I appeal to peoples' senses which makes me adored and wanted. I am bound to my past at all time regardless of where I go. Despite my small stature, I resemble and represent something bigger and stronger while packing a life sized punch.
My odor is strong but it is a good thing. I only live for a certain duration but my owners are happy throughout that time. My roots grow from the top but the real me penetrates the Earth with ease. What am I? I am an unexpected symbol of life.
